Bio

Hollis has over 35 years of experience in the A/E/C industry and is regarded as one of the strongest, and most highly sought after field operation leaders in construction management.  He started out as a carpenter, and was relentless in his pursuit of knowledge, development, and growth.  He quickly grew into an experienced Superintendent overseeing critical projects between $100m and $1bil across the United States.  He proved himself to be invaluable as a collaborator, communicator, and proactive problem solver who could guarantee project outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Hollis was promoted to Vice President of Operations, whereby he took his proven processes and approaches and scaled them across a billion dollar+ construction portfolio to develop the next levels of field talent.  He was successful in building strong teams that produced successful outcomes across two, Billion dollar construction divisions.

Hollis then became the President of a national self-perform company.  He grew the company from $8m in annual revenue to over $100m in annual revenue in only 3 years.  He expanded geographically and developed new specialty trade offerings. He grew successfully through the constant development and recruitment of talent, and through building a high-performing leadership team that could continue to scale and develop the organization.

After decades working under a GC and leading a successful Specialty Trade company, Hollis filled the role of COO with a Fire Protection and Life Safety Engineering firm.  His charge was to grow the organization from a local, $400k a year firm.  After 5 years, Hollis grew the organization into a national engineering firm, with operations in 5 regions of the country and over $15m a year in revenue.  He also expanded service offerings to provide construction period services, whereby he developed a team of professionals who specialized in testing, inspections, construction life safety, and securing TCO.  Hollis brought his expansive field experience to the forefront, and managed customer relationships and helped deliver scopes of work across critical construction projects.  His ability to analyze and problem solve construction challenges, as well as his strength in forging strong relationships and building high performing teams resulted in a division that included only 10% of company staff but yielded 25% of annual revenues and over 33% of annual profits.

Hollis’ professional licenses and certifications include OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training, as well as NFPA 241 certification.  He is CPR and First Aid certified and is experienced at driving incident and injury free construction environments.  He has his CSL license and his ABC Highrise license.

Hollis is deeply committed to the community and to giving back.  He is the founder of 1 Ohana Charities, an organization focused on supporting youth who age out of Foster Care.  The organization provides housing support, continuing education and workforce training support, coaching, mentorship, and job placement support to kids who would otherwise be homeless.  The goal is to give 18-22 year olds who have aged out the foundational life necessities, skills, and tools to lead meaningful and healthy lives.  Hollis also mentors several struggling youth, and is an active supporter of numerous charitable organizations and social causes.
